All about Poster Presentation

A scientific poster presentation is a formal way to present research works (or ideas) in a visually attractive and communicative way at a scientific conference. Students who are interested to engage in research or participate in undergraduate poster competitions should learn the necessary skills beforehand.

ChemFusion is excited to offer you an opportunity to learn the basics of poster presentation and gain hands-on experience designing and presenting a poster in a friendly environment boosting your confidence. While anyone can participate, the workshops will be geared towards beginners who did not have prior poster presenting experience.

The workshop is divided into two sessions (may be three depending on the number of participants, but you are required to attend two sessions). The first session will cover some of the basic aspects related to the poster presentation and PowerPoint tools required for the design. The participants will be required to present a poster in the second session as a team of 2-3 members.

Remember: If you complete the first session and present a poster in the second session, you will have a certificate and a token of gift from ChemFusion!

We recommend registering and participating as a team of 2-3 people so that you can make and present your poster together. Don’t worry about ideas. We will give you papers that you can present.

Participants must be from Chemical Science background (Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry)

● How to create ideas for undergraduate poster competitions

● Poster presentation as a part of the scientific conference

● Essential features of a scientific poster

● Criteria to make a poster stand out

● How to communicate with the audience and judges

● Hands on design of a poster in MS PowerPoint by the instructor

Session -2: 30 September 2022, 9 AM – 11 AM

· Poster presentation by the participants
